I’m back with this week’s #ETHANproject challenge. A little late on my part and I am so sorry. It has been a busy week with Vacation Bible School and a baby shower I was helping to host.
This week’s challenge is on Friendship.
It can be so hard as a busy mom to invest in friendships with other moms. It seems at times it can take an act of congress to actually pull of an outing with other moms. You have to coordinate with your spouse, sometimes get a sitter (ack, who do I call? They are all booked), coordinate with your friends who also have crazy busy schedules (no, that night won’t work, we have ball games and no, not that night either there is a dance recital), then, once everyone is all committed, you have to figure out where to go and what to wear! I mean, seriously, it is just easier to stay home sometimes than go through the hassle.
BUT, the hassle is so worth it!
Friends are our lifeline in this crazy life. I always feel renewed and refreshed when I get the opportunity to hang out with friends. It’s like a release for my soul to get to be silly and laugh and just be with other moms who are on this journey with me.
So, I hate that I did not have my act together to complete this challenge in time to get this post up…..it was already late enough and I did not want to delay it further. My soul could use some mommy time with other moms right now. Though, I have to say, I had a great time at VBS last week crafting with the kiddos and getting to hang out with some of my favorite people that I really felt refreshed after the week was over.
BUT-I am not ducking away from this challenge just because there are time constraints for a blog post. Tomorrow I get to hang out with one of my dear friends and her kiddos and her sister in law and go bowling. How fun is that! The kids will get to play together and the moms can catch up.
AND, there is a new family at church who we know from my daughter’s class. She reached out to me to see if the kids wanted to get together to play and I think this is another great opportunity to get to know another mom who is in the trenches just like me.
I’ll be sure to post my thoughts and some pics once I get the chance to take this challenge!
I encourage you to make it a point to take this challenge too..even if not this week, then sometime this summer. I’d love to hear how your #ETHANproject challenge goes. Feel free to leave a comment here or share your stories on social media with the #ETHANproject so myself and the fellow bloggers can cheer you on all summer long. I am going to pick my favorites to highlight right here!
Check back Friday for our next challenge (hint: VIEW) and highlights from my favorite Friendship challenges this past week!
