What is under the tree? Hmmm….
Last year I kept a secret from my kids….for close to a year!! Christmas Day meant I got to unveil the truth and give them a “gift” that would not be forgotten as soon as the wrapping paper was thrown away. We were going on a cruise….a DISNEY cruise!
Needless to say, the kids were excited! Though it took a few minutes to really sink in…that whole it is 2015 and we are going in 2016 thing…they did not realize that meant like a week and a half later 🙂
And I was so excited I could FINALLY talk about this trip with the kids (however, as the day approached, I kind of wished I had kept it a secret until embarkation….I would be a millionaire right now if I got paid $1 for every time they asked “When are we getting on the ship?”!!!)
Here is the highlight reel of our trip….
Getting ready to hear “The Disney Dream welcomes the Stewart family!”
Captain Goofy greeting us at Port Canaveral.
Chase is so excited to check out Andy’s room at the Oceaneer kid’s club.
Parker enjoying the huge “slinky” dog!
Chase and Michael “driving” the ship in the kid’s club!
Dreamy sleeping quarters!! Kid’s loved the magic bunk beds that appeared each evening!
Making our cabin door our “own” and our Fish Extender!
The kid’s interacting with one of the many interactive “pictures” on the ship. Here they are driving a pirate ship in Pixie Hollow.
Just some of the small Disney details on the ship. Honestly, it was not overwhelmingly “Disney” unless you looked hard for it.
Michael and I enjoying a nice adult evening at Palo….oh my heaven…it was delicious!
Two words….chocolate souffle!
Another fun touch….towel origami!
Pirate Night…..with Captain Jack Sparrow!
Yo Ho Ho….a pirate’s dinner for me!
Pirate Night fun! Argh….
Captain Hook and Mr. Smee!!!
God is Good! This sunrise was unreal…and made my heart so happy to finally see SUN!
Seriously, Disney is so good….rainbows welcoming us to Castaway Cay!!
Castaway Cay….could not wait to go explore and relax on that sand!
And here we are….in the Bahamas….on Castaway Cay!
Parker enjoying the sand and surf. She was even a trooper and snorkeled with me.
Captain Donald greeting us for our last evening!
And last, but certainly not least, Captain Gus! He literally saved the cruise! The weather for our original day at Castaway was going to be rain and lots of it. He managed to work it out and swapped our sea day and Castaway day and it was just simply amazing! Thank you so much Captain Gus! We hope to sail with you again!
Check back soon for some more Disney cruise fun….I am going to share my take on “my tips for a Disney cruise” and share some fun crafting ideas for those of you crafters out there that might be planning a Disney cruise too!
What is the best Christmas gift or surprise you have ever given your family? Have you been on a Disney cruise? Was it simply amazing?
