Easy, DIY Easter Egg Wooden Door Hanger that is perfect for spring!
Almost Spring, Feeling like Summer and Looking Like???
I don’t know about you but where I live, I feel like the temperature went right from the frigid tundra to the depths of hades!! Seriously, my car temp said 81 degrees a few days ago!! Where did Spring go??? Did I miss it?
If you looked at my front porch a few days ago, you would be thinking I missed spring and summer and had begun decorating for Halloween!
- Dead bugs….check!
- Dead plants….check!
- Frightful spots on the front door….check!
- Cobwebs (real ones)….check!
Yep, a scary place indeed!
I did a double check of the calendar and I realize that no, I have not missed spring and Easter is even around the corner (seriously, did we not just celebrate Christmas??). With this in mind, I determined it was time for a little sprucing up and adding a nice pop of Easter to my door.
For my front door, I wanted something colorful and whimsical and something different from my usual wreath. On a jaunt to Michael’s recently, I ran across a pre-cut Easter egg shape…perfect!! I could add my own color and touch and not have to get a saw out…win win!
I gathered some fun spring colors of paint and ribbon.
Traced a few lines on my egg.
Painted in my lines. My daughter even got in on the painting action.
Added fun touches!
Added the ribbon.
Sprayed Mod Podge acrylic sealer and hung my new Easter egg door hanger up!
I just love driving up to the house and seeing this fun pop of color greeting me.
All this crafting totally motivated me to run to the store for some cheap flowers to add to my sad planters.
I even ran up to the attic and got my fun spring pillows out.
Now I am ready for spring, even if the thermometer says it is summer!
